We would like to inform you that, after thorough and careful deliberation by the founding partners (medical aid scheme administrators: Discovery Health, Medscheme and Momentum Health and hospital groups: Life Healthcare, Netcare, Mediclinic), the CareConnect Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform has been decommissioned. 

Introduced in March 2021, CareConnect HIE facilitated secure access and upload of patient identification, demographic, and clinical information by affiliated hospitals and medical aid companies with patient consent. 

Please note that all records captured on HIE since its inception have been safely destroyed by CareConnect in compliance with data protection regulations. Patient admissions and discharge records of Life Healthcare patients will remain securely saved on Life Healthcare systems.
