International Nurses’ Day – 12 May 2022
Nurses celebrated for their role in providing quality patient care.
Life Healthcare is celebrating its nurses with the theme Nurses: A Voice to Lead and proudly acknowledges its nurses this International Nurses’ Day.
“We are extremely proud of the sacrifices our nurses make each day to tend to our patients. They have earned the respect of an entire country for their valiant efforts during the pandemic,” says, Merle Victor, Chief Nurse Officer at Life Healthcare.
Victor says “our nurses are very tired. The waves that they experienced since 2020 has really taken the toll on them. But despite that, they still show up, they come to work, they take care of our patients. So just with them doing that, there is hope.”
The Life Healthcare Group employ as many as 10,000 nurses across the country and celebrates them for being at the heart of patient-centred care, leading nursing care and using their voice to consistently drive improved healthcare services and systems.
International Nurses’ Day is an opportunity for the Group to thank nurses for taking up the challenge of making ordinary care special through being mindful and thoughtful in the care they deliver.
Aligned to 12 May is Life Healthcare’s Great 100 Nurses Awards, recognising nurses who have been chosen by their peers for epitomising quality and compassion in their daily work. Launched in 2012, the Great 100 Nurses celebration was established to honour nurses who have made a significant difference to the profession of nursing and in the lives of patients, peers, students and the community.
The initiative identifies and acknowledges the company’s top nurses in the Group on an annual basis, to commend their outstanding nursing care. Nurses are recognised as nursing ambassadors for Life Healthcare and the profession at large. The award gives nurses who join this prestigious group the opportunity to transform nursing care at the bedside and improve patient outcomes.
