General gastroenterology with an interest in  adults, adolescents and children with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis). Dr Epstein is an honorary senior lecturer in the Gastrointestinal Clinic, Groote Schuur Hospital and Director of the South African Inflammatory Bowel Disease Registry and the non-profit organisation IBD Africa.
