Overview

With 360 beds, Life Wilgers Hospital – in the leafy suburb of Lynnwood Ridge in Pretoria – is one of the largest hospitals in the Life Healthcare Group. At Life Wilgers Hospital the staff prioritise the delivery of a special brand of health and care to patients. The excellent, modern facilities include an accident and emergency unit with a helicopter landing pad, a 46-bed intensive-care unit and a 10-bed neonatal ICU. A first-class team of health professionals from 22 different medical and surgical disciplines are based at this facility, and this puts Life Wilgers Hospital in a position to deal with routine, more serious and extensive procedures, and also to deliver a special brand of health and care to its many patients.

Visiting hours

We welcome all visitors to patients, as we know what a difference the support of family and friends can make in a patient’s recovery process. In order for the patient to recuperate, the patient’s key caregivers (doctors, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals) need adequate time to ensure the patient’s treatment plan is followed; we therefore request that the visiting hours, outlined below, are respected.

General Wards:
Visitors are restricted to two visitors per patient at a time. Children are welcome, but they must have an adult supervising them.

19h00 – 20h00

Labour & Maternity unit:
Birthing partners are allowed to visit between 09h00 – 20h00, all other visitors must adhere to our normal visiting hours.

Paediatric unit:
One parent will be permitted to sleep in with an admitted paediatric patient. The other parent will be permitted to visit during visiting hours:

Intensive Care Units (including Neonatal and Paediatric) and High Care:
We only allow two family members per patient and children under 12 years of age are not permitted in these units.
