The 214-bed Life Groenkloof Hospital is situated in the leafy suburb of Groenkloof in Pretoria. Doctors and staff serve the community with dedication, competence, compassion and support. The hospital is renowned for the treatment of sports injuries in its specialised orthopaedics’ centre. The modern facilities include nine theatres, a special stroke unit, oncology clinic, breast care clinic, renal dialysis unit, bariatric unit, and an emergency unit with special resuscitation facilities. A large team of quality specialists in an array of medical and surgical disciplines is available to make life better for patients. Bariatric Unit - 012 424 3860
The new CEMMSSA (Centre of Excellence for Metabolic Medicine and Surgery in South Africa) accredited metabolic unit at Life Groenkloof Hospital will offer expert care for patients who are considering weight loss surgery. The decision to undergo weight loss surgery should be well informed and therefore the unit is supported by a multi-disciplinary team. This team consists of physicians, surgeons, dieticians, physiotherapists and clinical psychologists.

Breast Care Centre - 012 424 3860
The breast care centre offers a full array of collaborative information services, including coordination to the various departments for screenings and diagnosis to innovative treatment. The breast care centre focuses on a patient-centered care approach and works closely with the hospital's multi-disciplinary team. The specialised nursing practitioner will ensure support and counselling to patients and their families throughout the diagnoses and treatment of breast cancer. Pharmacy
Life Groenkloof Pharmacy consists of three parts: Retail Pharmacy, Hospital Dispensary and Surgical Store and each section is run by a group of enthusiastic competent staff. The pharmacy has 7 pharmacists, 5 pharmacist’s assistants and 10 other supporting staff to meet the needs of our business. The pharmacy motto is “Fast, Efficient and Friendly” and we aim at always giving the best service possible to all our customers, be it a patient, nurse or doctor. Renal Dialysis Unit - 012 424 3864
We provide acute and chronic renal dialysis from a state-of- the art renal dialysis unit. Treatment services offered include:
- chronic haemodialysis and haemodiafiltration
- acute dialysis
- continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- slow continuous therapies
- plasma exchange

Stroke Unit - 012 424 3642
The new all-inclusive specialist stroke unit at Life Groenkloof Hospital will offer expert care for stroke patients from the emergency stage all the way through to comprehensive functional rehabilitation. There are specialist neurologists in stroke care at the hospital, who will manage the initial admission and acute care until the patient has stabilised. This will be followed by admission to the neurology unit, staffed by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team, for intensive rehabilitation of physical, functional, cognitive, and emotional problems arising from the stroke. Family education and detailed report backs to all involved will form part of the service. Following discharge from the unit, outpatient therapy will be continued by referring therapists as well as therapists based at the hospital to ensure that stroke sufferers regain as much as possible quality of life and functionality after stroke.
Coffee shop
Wiesenhof Coffee Shop is situated on the ground floor and is open from 07h00 to 20h00 weekdays and 08h00 to 17h30 Saturday and Sundays.
