A vacancy exists for a Senior Radiographer in Nuclear Medicine, based at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital complex in Cape Town, reporting to the Practice manager, Ansu Fourie. The incumbent will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to both in patients and out patients. This will include Nuclear Medicine procedures, quality assurance and related administrative and management duties. The successful candidate will work as a member of the Nuclear medicine multi-disciplinary team, providing a high-quality service to patients in assigned areas in accordance with professional standards of practice.

- Schedule patients for Nuclear medicine procedures.
- Prepare patients for Nuclear medicine procedures which they are scheduled
- Prepare the room and equipment required before commencing radiology procedures
- Performs procedures which the incumbent is qualified
- Perform hotlbab procedures and preparations for radiopharmaceuticals
- Stock Mangement - ordering of radiopharmaceuticals and other stock as required
- Perform administrative tasks related to the business operations
- Lead and participate in all employee reviews meetings and communication
- Maintain acceptable levels of health and safety
- Reporting - complete all monthly reports required
- Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures
- Take on responsibilities as the radiation protection officer for the unit and ensure compliance with SAHPRA regulations
- Process invoices and purchase orders on SAP
- Keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and with non-radiographic staff, both in the Nuclear Medicine Department and elsewhere in the hospital.
- Requirements
-
- Degree/Btech in Nuclear Medicine Radiography.
- Be registered with HPCSA and CPD compliant.
- At least 5 year's experience in Nuclear Medicine.
- Ability to perform weekend work and overtime as and when required.
- Own transport and a valid driver’s license is essential.
- Experience in nuclear therapy is advantageous.
