A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse 2IC in ward 5, at Life Wilgers Hospital situated in Pretoria. The above position reports to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning of this unit and ensure quality nursing care to all patients.
- Critical Outputs

- Conduct basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
- Ensuring that unit is run according to acceptable legal standards.
- Maintaining excellent patient and customer care in accordance with Life Healthcare standards.
- Maintaining sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team.
- Delivery of market-leading evidenced-based clinical care.
- Effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders that enhances and optimizes business growth
- Delivery of cost-effective care across all business processes within the agreed budgetary parameters.
- Optimal and efficient resource utilization as per agreed budgetary parameters.
- Optimal product utilization including pharmaceuticals and equipment and sundries.
- Patient Experience, Clinical, and Safety (Patient and Employee) outcomes targets are met.
- Customer complaints and Adverse events were investigated and closed out within specified time frames.
- Compliance with LHC policies, Work Procedures & workflows (WP).
- Retaining employees through leadership and empowerment Reduction in turnover of staff.
- Effective recruitment, retention, and promotion of staff aligned to EE targets and LHC preferred as an employer of choice.
- Increased numbers of trained staff and staff engaged in formal/informal training programs.
- Lifelong partnership with our customers and LHC preferred as the hospital of choice.
- Requirements
-
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing.
- Orthopedic ward – Nursing experience
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Active registration on SANC.
- Participative and collaborative management style.
- Capacity to lead, foster and develop a healthy and positive working environment, which actively promotes joint performance and value, based culture.
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
- Contemporaneous knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial relations, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards
