A vacancy exists for a Pre-Admissions Clinical Assessor based at Life Groenkloof Hospital, reporting to the Patient Services Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to be part of a professional team that is continuously striving for the highest standards of quality in Life healthcare..
- Critical Outputs

- Create and maintain a professional patient focused pre-admission environment.
- Performing Clinical Assessments of Patients prior to being admitted to hospital.
- Liaising with medical aids to obtain authorization for admission.
- Manage the risk of the hospital and adherence to Life Healthcare Protocols.
- Collection of co-payments, private fees when applicable including completion of relevant documentation.
- Manage and control the Pre-Admission process.
- Manage and monitor input on iMEDS system, manage re-authorizations, rejections, delays, monitoring insurance verification, submission of accurate accounts to Funders.
- Adhere to ISO 9001 standards & patient escalation processes.
- Ensure compliance of SLA’s with internal stakeholders, foster positive professional relationships.
- Ensure compliance in terms of RSRT framework
- Requirements
-
- Grade 12 Qualification
- EN or RN qualification
- Extensive knowledge or experience in clinical coding (Icd 10 and CPT coding )
- Computer literacy (Impilo, MS Office, Imeds)
- Excellent communication skills & experience in dealing with Doctors and customers
- Knowledge of hospital procedures and medical terminology
- Teamwork
- Previous experience will be a strong recommendation
- Strong customer service ethic and ability to organize, plan and work under pressure
- An enthusiastic,motivated,well organized individual with initiative and able to handle pressure
