A vacancy exists for a Pharmacy Stores Assistant, based at Life Westville Hospital reporting to the Inventory Manager, Revina Naidoo. The successful candidate will be responsible for and will contribute to the effective management of stock in the Pharmacy as well as the rest of the hospital.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Receiving, unpacking and storage of surgical stock received.
- Assist with & manage stock distribution to units through auto transfers.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock takes in Pharmacy and in the wards.
- Credit stock according to the correct process.
- Maintain item codes for the wards and Pharmacy Effective utilization of reports to manage stock.
- Management of dead stock in Pharmacy and wards.
- Assist with stock management related to expiry dates, damaged stock, stock rotation and all ad hoc activities.
- Assist with general clerical / admin duties in the Surgical stores
- Drive 100% alert reporting
- Establish and maintain good relationships with nursing and other functions in the hospital
- Assist with the porter process
- General Housekeeping responsibilities
- Requirements
-
- Matric - Grade 12
- Stock management experience within a hospital surgical store is essential.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of SAP, Impilo billing and stock control systems would be advantageous
- Be available to work extra hours when needed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure is crucial.
- Physical strength to work with heavy stock boxes, trolleys and packing of stock on high shelves - correct pick up and safe work procedures.
