A vacancy exists for a Porter in our Pharmacy Department, based at Life Groenkloof Hospital reporting to the Senior Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring delivery of uncompromising quality care in line with Company strategic objectives and applicable Health /Nursing legislation.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Regular pick-up and delivery of prescriptions between Wards and Pharmacy.
- Deliver surgical ward stock securely to wards and theatre.
- Receiving, unpacking and storage of surgical stock received.
- Assist with & manage stock distribution to units.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock takes in Pharmacy and in the wards.
- Ensure credited surgical stock is returned to the correct storage area.
- Assist with stock management related to expiry dates, damaged stock, stock rotation and all ad hoc activities.
- Assist with general clerical / admin duties in the Pharmacy.
- Drive 100% alert reporting
- Establish and maintain good relationships with nursing and other functions in the hospital
- Requirements
-
- Grade 12
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays in accordance with the requirements of the hospital
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
- Good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with people and be in the frontline.
- Previous experience in a similar environment.
