A vacancy exists for an IOD Administrator / Private Account Clerk, based at Life Flora Hospital reporting to the Patient Services Manager, Trust Pandor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the below listed duties. The candidates will contribute to the effective functioning of this position and ensure quality care to all customers.
- Critical Outputs

- Auditing of IOD documents before scanning to head office
- Ensure correct documentation and accounts submitted to IOD department at head office.
- Ensure all follow up with doctors and COID offices.
- Resolving queries within specified turnaround times
- To maintain good working relationship with internal and external customers
- Ensure compliance to agreed standards and procedures in the auditing and submission of IOD claims to head office.
- Reporting to credit manager on performance on a weekly basis
- Ensure set targets and benchmarks are met.
- Collect COID (WCA) debt in accordance with Group targets and measurements.
- Knowledge and application of fixed fee, fee for service and COID tariffs.
- Minimize the bad debt write-offs by pro-actively managing the debtors ageing.
- Ensure that the ageing is managed in accordance with the Life Healthcare protocols, targets and objectives.
- Proactively manage all injury on duty accounts.
- Managing the risk of claims being rejected due to lack of incorrect documentation.
- Compliance with working procedures and quality requirements.
- Contribute positively to the credit control team.
- Eliminate bad debt through adherence to group protocol.
- Ensure upfront payment on all private admissions.
- Manage collections on private accounts.
- Manage refund processes as per LHC policies on private and doctors accounts.
- Monthly age analysis review of Private debt.
- Trending of private debt
- Adhere to all Patient Services (Credit Control) working procedures and protocols.
- Contacting Medical Aids and patients, collecting all outstanding debt.
- Reconciliation of payment remittances.
- Handing over of accounts as per working procedure.
- Requirements
-
- Grade 12.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- A knowledge of basic accounting skills
- Administration in a medical or safety environment will be an advantage.
- The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills.
- Detail orientated.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
