An opportunity exists for a CSSD Manager in Theatre at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital, reporting to the Theatre Manager, Astra Roberts. The successful candidate will assist with the effective functioning and management of the CSSD unit.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Effective management of the CSSD unit, ensuring that all operational requirements are met daily.
- Controlling of theft and breakage of instruments
- Quality assurance of theatre packs according to the standard as per the different cases.
- Excellent understanding of the working procedure in CSSD
- Understanding of the Infection Control Standards and Sterilization Standards according to Life Healthcare
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the Department to ensure adherence to infection
- control and SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Ability to train the CSSD Assistants to be optimally functioning
- Manage CSSD staff to ensure adequate and cost-effective staffing promoting co-operative working relationships
- and performance management
- Manage the department’s budget, including control and maintenance of equipment and stock
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage the Unit workload
- Requirements
-
- SANC registered as a professional/general nurse
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in CSSD/Theatre and leadership/managerial experience.
- Previous staff management and conflict management experience required
- Strong customer orientation
- Advance SAFMED CSSD course is desirable
- Team player
- Very energetic and well organized
- Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to work according to the flexi-hour system including night shift
