Overview

Life Carstenview is a 60-bed short-term stay mental healthcare facility, providing in-house treatment for mental healthcare users. Treatment programmes for day users are also offered. The principal forms of therapy used at the clinic are crisis counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, life skills training and electro-convulsive therapy. A high-care facility is available for those mental healthcare users who need a higher level of specialised care. The available mental health services include general psychiatry such as the treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar mood disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder or other mental health conditions associated with substance use disorders.  Monitoring the patient’s views on all aspects of the service keeps this facility up to date with patients’ needs and enables employees to provide them with the best possible service at all times.
