A vacancy exists for a Stock Controller in Pharmacy based at Life Eugene Marais Hospital, reporting to the Inventory Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for effective control of stock within the hospital environment.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Ensure stock is available all the time
- Packing and unpacking of stock
- Dead stock and short dated stock management
- Negative stock management
- Daily stock count, count drugs and credits; to derive missing stock list, over-charges to be credited
- Bin Maintenance
- Communicate out of stock and maintain back order letter register.
- Review highest moving stock and slow moving, and update MRPs
- Conduct Monthly stock take
- Annual year end stock count
Effective medication safety management
- Report 100% of inventory incidents and alerts and assist to implement remedial actions.
Effective quality management systems
- Participate in the implementation and compliance to LHC Quality management systems.
Effective financial management
- Participate in achieving hospital budgeted financial measures relating to pharmacy.
Effective product management
- Participate in the active management of cost of sales of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget.
Effective COS and Domino
- Build effective working relationships with doctors and other stakeholders in the hospital
Effective asset management
- Achieve optimal system utilisation.
- Requirements
-
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
- Relevant certificate or Diploma/Degree will be an added advantage
- 1-2 years relevant experience in hospital stock management will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in the SAP stock management system, will be an advantage
- Inventory, consignment or buying experience within hospital environment will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of inventory control processes, procedures and practices
- Be able to work under-pressure within a fast paced environment
- Be available to work extra hours when needed
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Other important competencies are partnership building, customer orientation and willingness to be multi skilled
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Computer literacy, knowledge of the Impilo and SAP systems is essential
