Senior Financial Accountant
Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Senior Financial Accountant, based at Head Office in Dunkeld, reporting to the Tax Manager: Southern Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance across all taxes for a portfolio of companies within the group as well as assisting with various tax reporting projects.

Critical Outputs
  • Maintaining SARS eFiling administration.
  • Liaising with SARS on tax administration matters.
  • Assisting the tax team with dividends withholding tax returns for dividends declared.
  • Assisting the tax team with VAT reconciliations for VAT return submissions for a portfolio of companies.
  • Supporting the tax team in analysing and preparing schedules for tax-sensitive accounts used in income tax return submissions.
  • Collaborating with the asset team to maintain the asset register in preparation for the year-end tax computation.
  • Assisting with data collection for the Country-by-Country report.
  • Preparing corporate tax returns for a portfolio of companies.
  • Assist with year end process and external audit.
  • Performing tax reconciliations between the General Ledger and SARS statements of account.
  • Investigating the income tax implications of changes in accounting standards.
  • Assisting with tax due diligence and compliance work.
  • Monitor Botswana companies’ tax compliance.
  • Scheduling all payments to SARS.
  • Supporting ad hoc tax-related projects, in particular automation and efficiency projects.
Requirements
  • Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Corporate tax administration experience is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and SARS eFiling. Previous experience in SAP would be an advantage
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel when necessary
