Introduction

A permanent vacancy exists for a Senior Financial Accountant at Head Office, Dunkeld, reporting to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a specific area of the cashbooks, AR and debtors processes to achieve compliance, standardization, and efficiency in the department.

Critical Outputs
  • Responsible for reviewing of accounting reconciliations and resolving of reconciling items in relevant accounting process
  • Manage the SA business bank accounts and ensure correct accounting of relevant transactions
  • Manage the non patient debtor, head office billing and renal accounting department
  • Manage and ensure correct accounting of sundry receivables and payables accounts
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timeous processing of transactions
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, procedures & protocols within the group
  • Management of staff
  • Training and development of direct & indirect reportees (career planning)
  • Manage ad hoc projects as requested by Management
  • Assist the Business in accounting related issues i.e. preparing reports and analyses of business units and board packs
  • Attending to customers (Admin Managers/Management/Colleagues) queries and promoting a high level of customer service
  • Assisting internal and external auditors
  • Constantly striving to improve working methods to improve standardisation and efficiencies
Requirements
  • Bcom Hons in accounting with articles completed or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is critical with advanced Excel Skills
  • Experience in SAP would be beneficial
  • High performance orientation, independence, functional proficiency, initiative and an ability to meet deadlines is essential for this position as is attention to detail and good communication and report writing skills
  • The ability to manage staff and have excellent communication skills is crucial
