A vacancy exists, for a Senior Buyer based at Head Office (Dunkeld), reporting to the Procurement Category Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of tenders, contracts and cost within the different commodities utilized at Life Healthcare. In addition, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for ensuring vendor compliance with contractual obligations, strategic sourcing objectives and maintaining mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships to drive implementation.

- Administering tenders.
- Negotiating contract terms and conditions.
- Engage with vendors to deliver quality, cost effective products and services.
- Manage vendor performance proactively in accordance with agreements.
- Identify and drive cost saving initiatives across various product and service commodities.
- Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to drive opportunity realisation.
- Provide procurement-related support to the different business units within Life Healthcare.
- Monitor business compliance to preferred agreements and keep management informed of compliance.
- Participate in new growth projects as and when required.
- Drive initiatives to foster the development of new or existing suppliers in line with the Group’s BBEEE and ESG requirements.
- Provide direction and inspire positive work behaviour in the team.
- Requirements
-
- As a minimum, Diploma in supply chain, procurement or equivalent.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or equivalent would be advantageous.
- CIPS certification would be advantageous.
- A minimum of 1 year’s working experience in a procurement role involving supply chain management, contracting and vendor management.
- Good computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- SAP experience would be advantageous.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation.
