A vacancy exists for a Renal Cluster Manager, based at Life Renal Dialysis – Coast West reporting to the Renal Regional Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of multiple dialysis units within a designated area. The role ensures operational excellence, quality patient care, and financial performance. Renal Cluster Managers also oversee the day-to-day activities of Renal Unit Managers, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and compliance with all regulations.

Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily clinic operations, ensuring compliance with operational policies and procedures. Oversee billing submissions, stock management, and equipment maintenance at all assigned clinics.
Financial and Inventory Management
- Ensure clinics meet monthly EBITDA targets and maintain financial sustainability. Conduct regular stock audits, address discrepancies, and ensure optimal stock levels in line with organisational policies.
Patient Care and Quality Standards
- Collaborate with Unit Managers to ensure high-quality patient care aligned with clinical protocols. Monitor key clinical performance indicators, including treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.
Facility and Equipment Management
- Ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained according to regulatory standards.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Supervise and mentor Renal Unit Managers, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement training programs to address skill gaps.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with nephrologists, multidisciplinary teams, and patients. Act as the first point of escalation for clinic-level concerns, resolving issues promptly.
Regulatory and Risk Compliance
- Ensure clinics comply with Department of Health and Labor regulations, including Occupational Health and safety standards. Conduct routine risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Basic Risk Assessment
- Conduct Basic Risk Checks annually during the first quarter, reporting results and necessary actions to relevant parties to address risks and ensure compliance. Collaborate with the Head of Quality to ensure all identified risks are mitigated effectively.
Staff Scheduling Management
- Review and sign off on all staff monthly rosters and timesheets. Ensure that scheduling meets the unit's needs while maintaining a work-life balance for staff and managing overtime costs.
Patient Records Management
- Hold unit managers accountable for ensuring that all patient records are accurate, complete, and current in physical and electronic systems like Euclid and Tmon. Conduct periodic audits of patient records across the region to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinate with the Head of Quality to address identified discrepancies.
Patient Outcomes and Care Improvement
- Focus on delivering agreed-upon patient care outcomes by overseeing the clinical care processes across all units. Collaborate with unit managers and clinical teams to develop and implement care improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction. Benchmark patient outcomes against regional and national standards to identify areas for improvement.
Quality Assurance
- Lead the Rolling Audit Program to evaluate clinic compliance with quality standards. Provide feedback to management regarding findings, results, and gaps. Ensure that any gaps identified are addressed promptly and follow up to confirm closure of corrective actions. Collaborate with Regional Managers to ensure adherence to quality protocols across all units.
Quality Governance
- Promote improved clinical outcomes through quality governance initiatives and ensure compliance with treatment protocols. Work closely with the Head of Quality and the Nursing Training Manager to align governance initiatives with organisational standards and staff training programs.
Quality Management
- Implement and monitor quality cycles and projects to enhance patient compliance and clinical outcomes. Regularly evaluate patient care processes to identify areas for improvement. Work closely with regional teams to ensure successful implementation and adherence to project timelines. Collaborate with the Nursing Training Manager to provide training on quality cycles and best practices.
KPI Management
- Review all clinical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to patient care, including treatment effectiveness (e.g., time, fluid removal, KT/V, BCM), safety, and patient satisfaction. Collaborate with Unit Managers to identify areas for improvement, implement action plans, and drive change management within the unit. Track progress against KPIs and report any discrepancies to the Head of Quality for corrective action.
Environmental Management
- Track, measure, and report on water, electricity, and waste management across the group in alignment with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets. Provide recommendations to improve resource utilisation and environmental sustainability. Work with the Head of Quality to integrate environmental sustainability into broader quality initiatives.
Patient Experience Review
- Measure patient satisfaction by reviewing compliments and complaints. Assist in resolving patient complaints at the regional level, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Use patient feedback to drive improvements in patient care and collaborate with Unit Managers to address systemic issues impacting patient experience.
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
- Review monthly OH&S checklists, identify gaps, and implement preventative actions to maintain a safe environment for staff and patients. Collaborate with Unit Managers to ensure that OH&S standards are consistently met and that corrective actions are implemented where needed.
Incident and Audit Management
- Oversee incident reporting processes, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and monitored. Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and organisational policies.
Reporting and Data Analysis
- Prepare comprehensive monthly reports on clinic performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and action plans. Use data insights to guide decision-making and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
Risk Identification and Mitigation
- Identify potential risks in patient care processes and report them to Unit Managers. Collaborate to mitigate these risks, ensuring patient safety and adherence to quality standards. Develop risk mitigation training sessions for clinical staff to enhance awareness and proactively manage identified risks.
- Requirements

- RN or Clin Tech
- Experience in business administration, marketing and healthcare management
- Experience in healthcare provider organizations
- Experience in stakeholder targeted communication and marketing
- Min 3-4 years of experience in healthcare provider organizations
- Excellent knowledge of (internal) communication & marketing
- Advanced user of usual IT (office) systems
- Detailed know-how on framework of renal care in healthcare provider organizations
- Understanding of all elements relevant to provide renal care in healthcare provider organizations
- Understanding of link and dependence of elements to provide renal care in clinical organizations
- Competencies
