The above vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse 2IC in Medical ward, at Life Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein, reporting to the Unit Manager Monique Theron. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic patient care and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in line with Company & Hospital strategic objectives. The successful candidate will contribute to the functioning of the ward and ensure quality nursing care to all patients.
- Critical Outputs

- Function as a direct second in charge and assist the Unit Manager
- Delivery of market-leading evidence-based clinical care.
- Effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders that enhances and optimizes business growth.
- Delivery of cost-effective care across all business processes within the agreed budgetary parameters.
- Optimal and efficient resource utilization as per agreed budgetary parameters.
- Optimal product utilization including pharmaceuticals and equipment and sundries.
- Patient Experience, Clinical, and Safety (Patient and Employee) outcomes targets are met.
- Management of customer complaints and adverse events investigations.
- Compliance with LHC policies and Work Procedures
- Actively implementing strategies for recruitment, retention, and promotion of staff aligned to EE targets and LHC preferred as an employer of choice.
- Actively involved with training in the unit and staff engagement in formal/informal training programs.
- Building lifelong partnership with our customers and LHC preferred as the hospital of choice.
- Requirements
-
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing.
- Nursing experience in Medical or similar ward.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Participative and collaborative management style.
- Capacity to lead, foster and develop a healthy and positive working environment, which actively promotes joint performance and value, based culture.
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
- Contemporaneous knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial relations, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential.
- Flexibility regarding working hours/shifts.
- Competencies

- Strong interpersonal skills, team player, very energetic, performance orientated and able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
- Must be able work day and night duty.
