Quality Manager
Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Quality Manager, based at Life Faerie Glen Hospital, reporting to the Hospital Manager. The successful candidates will co-ordinate quality efforts in support of the hospital management team and monitor the effectiveness of the Quality Management System; Safety, Health and Environmental compliance; as well as Legal Compliance thereof.

Critical Outputs

Hospital scorecard:

  • Submit inputs to the hospital scorecard
  • Set Hospital specific Quality objectives and targets in conjunction with management and in line with the Life Healthcare group targets
  • Measure performance against set goals monthly and interpret results
  • Advise management on corrective actions for major trends

Quality Reporting System(QRS)

  • Manage the QRS and ensure all quality data is accurately captured
  • Extract and generate monthly reports and graphs
  • Analyse quality stats
  • Review trends and assist line managers to generate corrective actions where necessary
  • Identify hospital trends, co-ordinate power teams
  • Coordinate and Manage Quality audits and monitor implementation of findings
  • Coordinate and participate in arrangements for external audits

Quality Management processes

  • Coordinate quarterly Health and Safety meetings
  • Coordinate and assist the Hospital Manager with hospital Quarterly Quality Review meetings
  • Coordinate the QMS process in all hospital departments

Document Control

  • Train document control resource, HOD’s and all line managers on the document control processes
  • Monitor compliance to document control process in the hospital and deviations

Legal, Safety, Health and Environment

  • Conduct SHE assessments and audits.
  • Coordinate processes to ensure legal compliance
    • Risk and Emergency management
    • Health and Safety representatives
    • Hazardous Chemical Substances
    • Occupational Health Programme
    • Environmental management

Training

  • Co-ordination and facilitation of all Health and Safety training
  • Participate in the Quality Care process
  • Quality Induction training
  • Quality Management System and process training
  • Assist in the implementation of quality campaigns
Requirements
  • Applicant must have a nursing background.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity in all MS-Office programs and applications is essential.
  • Computer proficiency essential.
  • Line management experience would be an advantage
  • Health and Safety, Quality management and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 experience is essential
  • Knowledge of legal compliance in Healthcare management and Healthcare Risk Waste
  • Driver’s license and ability to travel
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good administrative skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing or Degree or Diploma in Safety Management or similar
