A Vacancy exists for a Porter, based at Life Springs Parkland Hospital, reporting to Elsie Brits, Reception Supervisor. The purpose of this position is providing a supportive function to the nursing staff in basic delivery of tasks i.e. transportation of patients as well as supportive administration department under direct supervision of Admission Supervisor.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Providing prompt, courteous service to all patients, staff, doctors, and any other persons
- Safe and professional transporting of patients to wards and other sites
- Delivering of prescriptions, ECG’s, X-Rays, as well as any other goods (including stock / stationery), to relevant units/personnel within the hospital.
- Assist nurses in lifting patients.
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment.
- Adhoc duties assigned by Reception Supervisor
- Requirements
-
- Must have Grade 12
- An enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized individual with initiative and able to handle pressure and heavy lifting
- Able to work shifts (day or night) weekends and overtime as required.
- Must be customer service orientated.
- Teamwork essential.
- Experience within healthcare industry will be advantageous
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
