A Vacancy exists for a Porter, based at Life Entabeni Hospital, reporting to, Reception Supervisor. The purpose of this position is providing a supportive function to the nursing staff in basic delivery of tasks i.e. transportation of patients as well as supportive administration department under direct supervision of Admission Supervisor.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Providing prompt, courteous service to all patients, staff, doctors, and any other persons
- Safe and professional transporting of patients to wards and other sites
- Assist with queries at the information desk.
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment.
- Plan and manage orderly storage of the wheelchairs .
- Report faulty/unsafe and broken wheelchairs immediately.
- Adhoc duties assigned by Reception Supervisor.
- Requirements
-
- Matric - Grade 12
- An enthusiastic, motivated, punctual & well organised individual with initiative and ability to handle pressure. Must be able to work shifts and overtime as required.
- Must be customer service oriented with good time management skills
- Reliable transport due to the nature of shift work
- Effective communication skills; verbal and written.
- Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
