A vacancy exists for a Pharmacy Practice Specialist within Life Pharmacy Management Services. The position is based at Head Office in Dunkeld, and reports to the National Pharmacy Practice Manager.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Provide expertise to ensure the provision of customer focused, professional pharmaceutical services in Life Healthcare
- Develop and build cooperative working relationships with other enabling functions to develop synergies, influence positive outcomes and maximize optimal functioning of the business
- Provide functional input into Life Healthcare growth initiatives and projects
- Contribute to the strategy for appropriate human resourcing for pharmacy. Coordinate the approach for capacity development within the function, including the management of professional and support staff training programs
- Drive improvement projects to optimize systems and processes to achieve strategic business objectives
- Take ownership of the pharmacy component of projects to reduce cost of care and improve sustainable clinical efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to identify and deliver best practice in pharmacy operations, and in line with ISO9001 objectives
- Influence legislation that impacts the business through proactive commentary on draft publications and participation in stakeholder meetings
- Communication and escalation of professional and commercial issues pertaining to the private hospital industry to the relevant stakeholders
- Ensure LHC work procedures are aligned to legislative changes and identified risk areas
- Provide management information and tools
- Support the regional pharmacy function to develop skills to ensure that managers and key staff are professionally and commercially competent to enable business units to achieve financial and non-financial targets.
- Requirements
-
- Pharm and current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
- At least five years’ experience as a pharmacy manager, or experience leading teams
- Knowledge and understanding of the Healthcare Industry is a requirement, and an advantage if gained in a private hospital setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills
