A vacancy exists for a Key Accounts Manager, based at Head Office, Dunkeld, the successful candidate will be responsible for collections and credit control Key Accounts clients. It will require working as part of the Credit Risk Management team with the aim of meeting stringent deadlines and targets set by the Head of Credit Operations. It will involve strategic planning and diligence in the co-ordination of the debtor’s department.

Credit Risk Management
- Integrate the principles of sound credit risk management across all portfolios and within performance metrics
- Maintain the strategic plan for credit collections, attending to possible risk accounts and escalating them to the National Business Partner.
- Work closely with the National Business Partner to manage all risks associated with ECL Provisions
Credit Collection Process
- Manage the end-to-end collections process for all designated Key Accounts across all business streams
- Maintain and manage the credit risk policies to ensure working procedures are enforced
- Maintain and manage performance monitoring systems, e.g. Debtpack and/or dashboards
- Manage and achieve cash targets set out and report deviations therefrom in such a way that timely insights are available to the Head: Credit Operations
- Manage the debtor days’ targets set out by the Head: Credit Operations for all designated funders/stakeholders
- Ensure all rejections are managed timeously with various stakeholders
- Ensure remittances are reconciled and actioned accordingly
- Manage agreed SLAs with all stakeholders
- Manage and review bad debt write off trending
- Ensure corporate governance is strictly adhered to as per policy
- Ensure queries and complaints raised by funders/government/patients are actioned timeously
Effective Management of Strategic Finance Projects
- Play a pivotal role in the digitization of Credit Risk Management across the value chain
- Ensure all processes within the collection value chain are standardized
- Assist with integration of ECL model into the month-end bad debt provision process
Governance and risk management
- Ensure and drive optimal management of business governance to achieve sound business ethics, risk management and control with appropriate transparency and control.
- Manage compliance to the executive constraints as per corporate governance, report deviations and act where necessary
Effective, productive and credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders, through:
- Responding to internal and external customers’ requests, complaints and needs timeously and professionally
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders such as funders, government, and insurers
- Maintaining relationships with all stakeholders at a National Level
Effective People Management
- Demonstrate visible leadership in respect of LHC values, and strategy.
- Provide direction and inspire positive work behaviour in the department.
- Recruit, retain, motivate and develop staff according to LHC people policies and practices.
- Conduct performance management appraisals with all employees within the team
- Ensure compliance to Group Human Resources Strategies, including but limited to diversity and transformation targets are met.
- Devise and maintain a succession plan for key roles within the team
- Implement skills development plan that enables opportunities identified in the strategic plan
- Ensure that members of the team are sufficiently trained to achieve the targets set out.

- The requirement for this role is a relevant NQF 7 qualification. However, in exceptional circumstances where applicants have significant relevant experience and have also commenced and made progress to acquire the required qualifications for this role, such applicants may be considered and if deemed suitable, accommodated in terms of the Company’s Personal Grades - Blue Flag/Red Flag Policy.
- The successful candidate will need to have experience in managing credit control at a Senior level in a healthcare environment.
- Must have at least 10 years’ work experience of which 3 years must be in leadership role
- Strong people management experience, with large teams
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
- Understanding the various pricing Models / Contracts within LHC
- Previous experience in managing large payment remittances, allocations, and debtors’ recons
- Previous experience in managing large debtors’ books
- The ability to work independently as part of a team with exceptional interpersonal skills
- The ability to work under pressure
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to participate in presentations with various Medical Aid Groups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Computer proficiency experience in SAP added advantage
- Driver’s license and ability to travel
