A vacancy exists for an IT Change & Release Manager, based at Life Healthcare Head Office, reporting to the Head of IT Service Delivery.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the process of documenting and mitigating the risk of moving, adding, removing, deleting, modifying or supplementing infrastructure or software in LHC as well as translating the impact of requested changes & releases to the policy.
This individual possesses great communication skills and able to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, must be organized, reliable and results-orientated with the goal to drive the stability of systems across IT.
- Critical Outputs

- Define and agree on change & release models and standards
- Identify, develop, maintain and improve the change & release management software process
- Monitor compliance to the change & release management process
- Chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and ensure that the CAB has the information needed to evaluate changes & releases
- Evaluate all requests for change (CHGs) to determine the impact on business processes and IT services and to assess whether change will adversely affect the operational environment or introduce unacceptable risk
- Ensure that changes are logged, prioritized, categorized, assessed, authorized, planned, and scheduled, and are introduced in a controlled and coordinated manner
- Appropriately manage emergency changes to minimize further incidents
- Manage the implementation of approved changes
- Maintain a tracking and reporting system to document rejected changes, communicate the status of approved and in-progress changes, and completed changes.
- Review and endorse implementation plans for compliance and communicate plans for compliance
- Liaise with stakeholders and technical staff
- Negotiate appropriate change windows with the business
- Analyzing change & release key performance indicators, identifying problem areas, and implementing solutions to improve effectiveness
- ITIL Process Implementation: Ensuring adherence to ITIL best practices for change & release management
- Developing and enforcing change & release policies and procedures
- Identifying, recommending, developing, and implementing end-user training programs for change & release management
- Attending training seminars, conferences, and trade shows to broaden knowledge of change & release management
- Participating in Incident & Problem management warooms and initiatives towards the implementation of long-term solutions
- Requirements
-
- Matric with minimum of 10 years’ experience in an IT Environment preferably within the healthcare sector
- Advanced level IT qualification will be advantageous
- ITIL @v4 Foundation certificate
- Experience/ practitioner certification in Change Management
- Experience with IT Service Management tools
- Knowledge of deployment and implementation methodologies (Agile, EDM, Infrastructure etc.) or related technical change management experience
- Experience in project management and knowledge of approaches, tools, and phases of project lifecycle
- Sound knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Understanding of configuration management principles
- Familiar with controls and audit compliance
- Broad knowledge of business processes
- Ability to produce efficient and effective processes
