A vacancy exists for Head of Product Development, based at Life Head Office, reporting to the Funders and Health Policy Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing clinical product development at Life Healthcare and its subsidiary companies in South Africa.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Own definition and realisation of the clinical product vision, strategy and roadmap
- Drive innovation, strategic planning and management of the entire clinical product portfolio. Including optimisation of existing product lines and development of new ones
- Assess the healthcare environment and the existing product set to identify and evaluate new product opportunities
- Develop and own relevant strategic partnerships
- Communicate visionary innovations, strategic decision proposals and investment business cases to all key stakeholders
- Drive a patient-centric approach to all clinical products and provide the interface into business leadership whilst also representing the voice of the customer
- Work in a multidisciplinary team and drive internal and external cross-functional collaboration
- Lead a team of Product Managers to manage existing products, execute pilots and drive execution through the product lifecycle
- Drive sustainable growth of the P&L and performance of product related KPIs
- Grow and develop the Product Development function within the business
- Requirements
-
- At least an undergraduate degree in the relevant field.
- Short courses on modern product and design practices.
- A post-grad degree will be advantageous.
- 7-9 years in technology, innovation, customer experience or product management
- 5 years of leadership responsibilities including interfacing into executive leadership
- Experience/understanding of leading product development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Design Thinking, Rapid Prototyping)
- Experience in driving customer centric product development
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Strong analytical, strategic and coordinating skills
- Entrepreneurial and innovative focus
- Strong understanding of market trends in relevant business and technology
