A vacancy exists for an Graduate Intern Social Worker, based at Life Nkanyisa Waverley Care Centre situated in Germiston. The successful candidate will report to the Hospital Manager and will be offered a learning opportunity in providing therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation service to persons with Chronic Psychiatric disorders at the facility. The candidate will be expected to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with aims to deliver quality, evidence-based and cost-effective treatment and rehabilitation services.
- Critical Outputs

- Develop and maintain the facility programme as a functional member of the inter-disciplinary team.
- Participate in patient programme planning, reviews, and adjustments as and when required.
- Drive the patient admission and discharge process.
- Assessment of all admitted patient and establish a care plan and IDP together with MDT.
- Drive compliance with the Department of Social Development’s policy on disability and other relevant polices that govern that have bearing of the business.
- Liaise with external stakeholders and agencies to establish a referral base.
- Participate in the facility specific marketing initiatives, advocacy events and community education programme when required.
- Active participation in continuous professional development activities of the unit
- Attend all required inter-disciplinary team meetings.
- Function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team.
- Requirements
-
- Grade 12
- Degree in Social Work.
- Current registration with South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP)
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies pertaining to treatment of Mental Health Conditions would be an advantage.
