An opportunity exists for an unemployed Finance intern in support of HWSETA to participate in a learner project. The project provides opportunity for an ambitious graduate offering hands-on experience, professional development, and support aligned commensurate with a new finance/accounting qualification.
The learner will report to Diane Howell, Hospital Finance and Administration Manager and the learnership will commence 1 February 2026.

Finance Intern learnership program
Our co-ordinated programme and stimulating work environment will equip you with valuable Financial experiential learning in the following generalist areas:
- Assisting in the capturing and processing of financial transactions such as expenses, debtors and creditors.
- Supporting the finance team with data entry and reconciliation tasks
- Helping track expenses and verifying invoices
- Learning and applying accounting principles
- Supporting the finance department in maintaining financial records
- Liaising with different hospital departments to ensure the smooth flow of financial data
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance queries and requests
You will also receive Individualised coaching to enable you to complete your unit standards and portfolio of HR evidence and will be offered the following:
- A monthly learner stipend
- A workplace mentor for the duration of your 12 month lnternship.
- Opportunities to participate in technical skills training.

- Learners must be unemployed to qualify for this project
- All learners must have a Finance/ Accounting degree from a University or University of Technology
- All learners must complete the12 months’ workplace experience.
- Learners must not be the beneficiary of any other HWSETA grant and must not have been part of the work experience grant in prior years
