CSSD Supervisor
Introduction

Vacancies exist for CSSD Supervisor, based at Life Peglerae Hospital, reporting to Unit Manager. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting the surgical team to perform surgical procedures on patients successfully and to ensure that the patient receives optimal care in accordance with company and hospital strategic objectives.

Critical Outputs
  • Ensure correct packing and sterilization of instrument sets and linen packs for theatre and doctors’ rooms in accordance with Company infection control standards by CSSD staff
  • Manage CSSD so that it meets the requirements to comply with relevant legislation and Life Healthcare policies and procedures
  • Manage CSSD staff to ensure adequate and cost effective staffing promoting co-operative working relationships and performance management
  • Manage the department’s budget, including control and maintenance of equipment and stock
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the Department to ensure adherence to infection control and SHEQ policies and procedures.
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage the Unit workload
  • Effectively market the Unit to the Doctors to promote satisfactory working relationships
  • Gather relevant information to assist Theatre Manager in Capital Expenditure planning
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Theatre Experience required
  • Post relevant CSSD qualification required.
  • Current registration with SANC
  • Previous experience in managing a CSSD department would be highly advantageous
  • Flexibility relate to working hours
  • Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail
  • Previous staff management and conflict management experience will be an advantage.
  • Must be fully vaccinated (proof required)
