A vacancy exists for a Senior Stock controller (Theatre), based at Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning and co-ordination of stock for all the wards & Theatres and will report to the Inventory Manager.
- Critical Outputs

- Effective management of consignment and loan stock
- Managing the procurement, control and distribution of theatre stock.
- Asset management to ensure security of stock and to minimize loss due to redundancy.
- Active involvement in stock-takes and cycle counts including the investigation of variances.
- Dead stock and short dated stock management.
- Capturing and handling of product complaints.
- Monitoring expiry dates of all items and managing as per protocol.
- Develop and maintain sound relationships with internal customers to achieve co-operation and compliance with audit processes.
- Ensuring a culture of quality in our business and operational excellence.
- Control and distribution of consignment and loan stock items.
- Implementing and maintaining the LHC formulary.
- Resolving queries from relevant stakeholders.
- Any other task that the line manager may deem necessary.
- Management of unreconciled invoices
- Requirements
-
- Grade 12.
- Minimum 2 years’ working experience in a Theatre/ Pharmaceutical Stores environment
- Knowledge and proficiency in SAP
- Knowledge of inventory control, management, processes, procedures and practices.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
- A person who is result orientated, pays attention to detail, has excellent interpersonal as well as communication skills is needed.
- Customer focus, a commitment towards continuous improvement, the ability to work independently and the management of time is required.
- Computer proficiency is essential.
- Good organizational skills are essential as well as attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Able to work under pressure as well as being able to work as part of a team.
