Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Bookkeeper, based at Life Health Solutions Head Office, reporting to the Central Financial Controller. This role encompasses bookkeeping and management reporting duties, with a particular focus on the Employee Wellness Programme (EWP). The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing data and financial information, as well as performing specific general ledger reconciliations related to key financial processes within Life Health Solutions' financial accounting.

Critical Outputs
  • Manage month-end processes and assist with accurate data capture.
  • Prepare and record invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders in SAP.
  • Monitor and track expenditure against purchase orders.
  • Reconcile client spend against approved purchase orders on a weekly basis.
  • Perform reconciliations for designated financial processes.
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and timely.
  • Code affiliate payments according to established guidelines.
  • Assist in vendor analysis to support procurement and financial decision-making.
  • Prepare precise and complete accruals at month-end.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive month-end financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Continuously seek to improve workflows to enhance standardization and operational efficiency. Provide support on ad hoc projects as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in SAP is essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes up to trial balance.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Ability to perform accurate reconciliations.
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience with the technical skills required to meet critical outputs.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong deadline orientation and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the private healthcare industry, including its challenges and key players, is an advantage.
