Social Worker
Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Social Worker at Life Hunterscraig Private Hospital, reporting to the Nursing Manager, Megon Wilkinson. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of quality patient care.
Critical Outputs
  • Evaluation, intervention programme development and treatment of patients admitted to the unit.
  • Run the discharge planning of all patients in the Unit.
  • Offer emotional support to the patient and their families in the Unit.
  • Liaise with the families with regards to patient care and progress.
  • Function effectively as a part of an interdisciplinary team to meet the requirements of quality patient care.
  • Education of patients and their families about the patient’s condition.
  • Participation in weekly team and family meetings.
  • Active participation in continuing professional development activities of the unit.
  • Building relationships with referring doctors and therapists
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of substance abuse programs
Requirements
  • Applicants need to have a degree in Social Work and be currently registered with SACSSP
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
  • Computer proficiency would be an advantage
  • Valid Driver’s licence
  • Be available to run support groups after hours when required
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of substance abuse programs
