A vacancy exists for a dynamic qualified and experienced Registered Nurse (Psychiatric), based at Life Riverfield Lodge, reporting to Linda Elsey, Unit Manager. The successful candidates will be goal oriented and committed to best operating practice for patient outcomes and will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive optimal care to achieve the hospital and company objectives of quality, growth and people.
- Critical Outputs

Provide quality patient care:
- Working closely with the Unit Manager by managing labor hours; providing a safe and healthy work environment for patients, staff and visitors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Implementation and co-ordination of the nursing care plans in order to achieve clinical outcomes
- Must comply to Life HealthCare policies and protocols
- Ensure quality management systems and initiatives are conducted according to the unit specifications
- Maintain patient safety and confidentiality
- Initiate training and development for self and staff to ensure personal and professional growth
- Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Must be able to Manage all stock used according to unit specific policies and protocols
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with doctors and other stakeholders
- Conducting in-service orientation on Unit specific preferences
- Promote a safe and healthy working environment by completing alerts and incident reports
- Ensure effective record keeping in accordance with legal and ethical requirements
- Requirements
-
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing; SANC registration; psychiatric trained and experienced will be an advantage
- Strong customer orientation, team player, very energetic and well organized
- Must be able to work under pressure in a continuously changing environment
- Strong Interpersonal skills required
- Rotation of Shifts
- Demonstrate effective management and leadership skills
- Passionate about patient care and achieving quality clinical outcomes
- Basic understanding of labour legislation
- Exceptional communication skills
- Post basic Mental Health experience would be an advantage.
