Four (4) vacancies exist for a Registered Nurse (Midwife Qualified), based at Life Robinson Private Hospital, reporting to Unit Manager – Maternity Ward. The successful candidates will contribute to the functioning of the ward and ensure quality nursing care to all patients in accordance with Company and Hospital strategic objectives.
- Critical Outputs

Ensuring effective financial management by
- Ensuring accurate charging by managing clocking time
- Ensuring consignment stock and equipment is charged according to policy
Affecting the functioning of Maternity equipment and instrumentation by
- Ensuring the correct use Maternity equipment and instrumentation by educating and supervising staff on the correct utilization of the equipment
Providing Quality patient care by
- Obtaining the correct information and assessment of the Patient
- Ensuring that the patient is comfortable and assist the doctor during the rounds and procedures
Ensuring effective people management by
- Assist with training and assessing the competence of staff
- Give feedback to the unit manager in order to assess optimal performance
Effective SHEQ management by
- Ensuring the use of personal protective clothing and complying with ISO requirements
- Ensuring the disposal of medical waste in order to effectively control infection
Effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Maintain a healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the unit manager
Specific maternity Outputs
- Ante-Natal care of patients as well as post-natal care
- Progressing and conducting a Normal vaginal delivery.
- Breastfeeding support and education to patients
- Maintaining excellent patient and customer care in accordance with Life Healthcare and client service standards.
- Requirements
-
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
- General Nursing Degree / Diploma in Midwifery
- Registration with SANC
- Nursing experience in Maternity Ward (Labour, Post-natal and Nursery) and gynecology for at least 2 years.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
- Computer proficiency would be an advantage
- Must be willing to fulfil a role in the unit according to the flexi-hours system and call system
- Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment
- Strong inter-personal skills required
