A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac High Care at Life Westville Hospital, KZN. The successful candidates will contribute to the effective functioning and co-ordination of the unit and ensure quality nursing care to all patients. This position will report to the Unit Manager, Rita Naidoo.
- Critical Outputs
-
- Conduct basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
- Ensure quality patient care and customer satisfaction according to Life Healthcare Policies & Procedures.
- Management of other categories nursing staff according to their Scope of Practice.
- Maintain sound professional relationships with all patients, doctors and other members of the multi- disciplinary team.
- Effective risk management of the unit by complying with Health, Safety &Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Effectively participate in the management of costs in the unit (stock, staffing, and equipment)
- Identify training needs and initiate facilitation
- Requirements
-
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care Nursing Science
- Experience in Cardiac nursing is essential
- Current registration with the relevant professional or regulatory body
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
- Computer proficiency
- Must be able to work under pressure in a continuously changing environment
- Strong customer orientation, team player, very energetic and well organised
- Strong Interpersonal skills required
