Introduction

A vacancy has arisen within Life Occupational Health for a Regional Manager, Northern Cape Region. The successful candidate will report to Dr M.R Setlhakgoe, the Head of Operations for Occupational Health and will be responsible for leading and managing the team in order to maximise the delivery of employee health services to meet customer requirements, thereby achieving the business objectives. The regional office is based in Bloemfontein.

Critical Outputs

Effective client retention and relationship building through:

  • Ensuring the delivery of a quality service to our customers according to their expectations and our commitment to them
  • Managing client relationships in a proactive manner to ensure the retention, development and/or maintenance of business

Effective business development initiatives and growth within existing clients, through:

  • Actively developing new business opportunities on a regional level through sales and marketing strategy development and potential business client interactions
  • Achieving the business growth and client retention for the region, in line with Group thinking, by meeting short, medium and longer term objectives

Effective people management and employee engagement, through:

  • Actively lead and manage regional MANCO and ensure participation from all parties to achieve strategic objectives
  • Providing direction and inspire positive work behaviour in the region
  • Recruiting, retaining, motivating and developing staff according to Life Health Care people policies and practices

Manage and drive operational efficiency in the region, through:

  • Leading, guiding and managing the operations managers to ensure they receive the necessary information, infrastructure, logistics and functional support to achieve their objectives
  • Demonstrating visible leadership in respect of the Group values, operating model and strategy
  • Actively sponsoring LHC initiatives and projects as it relates to the region

Manage and drive sound compliance and governance practices, through:

  • Ensuring and driving optimal management of business governance to achieve sound business ethics, risk management and control with appropriate transparency and controls
Requirements
  • Background and qualification in occupational healthcare and/ or business management will be an advantage
  • Relevant business qualification, alternatively a minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Proven leadership and line management experience including previous profit responsibility
  • Customer liaison and relationship building experience
  • Will be required to travel
