Quality and Development Manager
Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Quality and Development Manager, based at Life College of Learning Head Office Dunkeld, reporting to the National Education Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for management of the quality assurance systems and processes across the College and management of academic programme development to produce competent and qualified nurses and other health practitioners to meet the needs of LHC and external healthcare providers.

Critical Outputs

Effective management of standards, policies and procedures for teaching, learning and assessment for all formal programmes offered aligned to current accreditation requirements, legislation and regulatory bodies (such as CHE and SANC)

  • Ensure all learning centers characterized by standard education and training practices
  • Manage the student programmes from application to qualification certification
  • Manage annual Educator development

Effective curriculum development and review

  • Manage the development of Curricula for nursing and health sciences programmes
  • Manage the quality of delivery of all programmes offered
  • Manage the curriculum review process
  • Manage the research project integration into all formal programmes
  • Collaborate and review the digital learning platforms for increasing access to college programmes and CPD modules

Effective relationship building with internal and external stakeholders

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with Learning Centre teams, hospital management, business unit management and enabling functions
  • Involvement in professional association and liaison with education stakeholders with the aim of improving the quality of education at college

Effective quality management system

  • Implement an internal quality management system in conjunction with quality department and College Management
  • Manage the process to maintain ISO 9000-2015 compliance

Effective management of examinations

  • Standardize and manage system and processes for examination
  • Manage the legal and ethical dissemination of student results
  • Manage the external and internal moderation processes

Effective management of special projects

  • Establish and implement an identified project plan
  • Establish and present a proposal to for any new project initiatives

Effective management of a student data system

  • Management of student data systems from registration to qualification certification
  • Monitor and evaluate current recordkeeping and archiving systems of student records at learning centres
  • Manage the process for issuing of transcripts
  • Establish and manage the process for issuing of recognition of prior learning and credit accumulation and transfer

Effective people management

  • Manage HR, performance and development of all staff reporting into position
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in nursing and a post graduate qualification in nursing education
  • Applicants must have a relevant masters’ degree
  • Applicants must have a management qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in nursing education management will be given preference
  • Current registration with SANC
  • Understanding of the nursing education and higher education landscape, private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
  • Computer proficiency
