A vacancy has arisen for a National Nursing Manager for Life Nkanyisa, reporting to CEO Life Nkanyisa with a matrix reporting line to the Head Office Nursing Function. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the national nursing and quality strategy within Life Nkanyisa. The role will be based at Life Healthcare Head Office, Oxford Parks, Building 2, Rosebank.

- Leadership and Management
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to nursing across Life Nkanyisa
- Ensure strategy is aligned to the National nursing strategy
- Promote teamwork development and high standards of care
- Mentor Nurse Managers
- Operational Oversight
- Oversee implementation of nursing strategic focus/initiatives protocols, policies
- Monitor and manage safe staffing levels
- Quality Improvement
- Lead and participate in QI initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and patient safety protocols
- Effective governance within the region to mitigate clinical nursing risk
- Financial and efficiency management
- Co-develop and manage the nursing budget and monitor financial performance
- Strategic planning
- Ensure to contribute to the achievement of agreed targets
- Stakeholder engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including National Management, Hospital Management, regulatory bodies,
- Sustainable pipeline of resources through skills development
- Strategically analyse and notify training needs and implement educational programs to enhance nursing skills
- Data Management and reporting
- Collect and analyse data related to nursing performance and patient outcomes
- Utilize data to drive strategic decision-making and improve nursing practices

- Requirements
-
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree
- Post Basic qualification in a specialty is or Management qualification will be advantageous
- Post Basic Psychiatric nursing qualification
- Post graduate qualifications would be an advantage
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior nursing management position
- Current registration with South African Nursing Council
- Technical and Professional Competence to the critical outputs
- Understanding of funding models
- Knowledge of Nursing Education framework
- Understanding of SA healthcare industry
- Understanding of operating structures and relationships within a hospital environment
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Computer proficiency in MS office
