A vacancy exists for a PMO Head, based at Life Healthcare Head Office, reporting to Head-Business Solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible to run the Book of Work process, for ongoing Demand management and approval of new business cases, the standardization and collation of all artefacts relating to project delivery and governance, creation of a planned roadmap of delivery and review of delivery versus this plan. - Critical Outputs

- Deliver on a Book of Work prioritization process including the artefacts to support this.
- Run the Book of Work process adnd ensure that LHC arrives at a single unified view of the project deliverables, within Capex budget
- Bi-annual reviews of the Book of work – rebalancing of the budget allocation
- Ongoing reviews of new Demand before submission to IT Steerco
- Develop and maintain standard artefacts for:
- The Book of Work process
- New Business cases
- Delivery reviews
- Monthly progress reporting
- Create a roadmap and targets for project delivery – and measure progress against this monthly.
- Run the Delivery review meetings to get an overview of Delivery performance across all portfolios
- Highlight common risks across the portfolio
- Develop and resource management and allocation methodology across all projects
- Report monthly on progress across the portfolio versus target – from a delivery as well as finance perspective.
- Governance -
- Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives
- Financial tracking across the portfolio – bi-annual review of financial performance and reallocation of budget to new projects or projects that require additional budget
- Ensure that the portfolio is delivered on-time, within scope and within budget – maintain an overall Green RAG
- Identifying opportunities for continual improvement
- Enhance the image of IM as a delivery focused department that meets our commitments
- Requirements
-
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or computer science. Post graduate qualification in Business is advantageous.
- 5 -10 years experience in IT programme management
- 10 Years experience in PMO management
- Strong UAT and system integration testing experience
- Proven experience in program management of large IT projects. Projects with value > 100m
- Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
- Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
