A vacancy exists for a Health Care Worker for Life Renal Dialysis Worcester, reporting to Unit Head Nurse. The successful candidate will set the highest premium of quality care by ensuring that the Life Healthcare and Life Renal Dialysis standards are achieved and maintained. Participate and manage various projects as directed by the Clinic Head Nurse. Have a clear understanding of all patients’ needs. Assisting unit staff, Adherence to Hygiene Plan, Waste segregation, Adherence to NC Standard Hygiene and Infection Control.

Environment and Equipment Care
- Working shifts according to off duties, as needed by Unit Head Nurse
- Switch dialysis machines on and put into T1 Test
- Lining of dialysis machines
- Arrange patient’s files in order of first come first served
- Restocking of work area with medical consumables
- Stripping of machines after dialysis treatment
- Cleaning and disinfecting of hemodialysis machines
- Assist in equipment movements
- Assisting with the ambulation of patients inside and around the unit
Patient Care
- Switch television sets on for all patients, assist with earphones
- Make patients comfortable on their dialysis chairs
- Order the patients meals
- Serve the patients meals
- Generally assisting with the patients’ needs
- Help with weighing the patients
- Assist patients to and from their chairs
- Assist patients to their cars if necessary
- Ensure patients sign the attendance register
- Ensure daily stock charge sheet is filled in
Stock Room
- Monitor stock room and refrigerator temperature and report out of range temperatures
- Pack stock room according to first in first out
- Alerting the unit manager about in coming goods
- Circle expiry dates
- Assist in stock count
- Locking of storeroom when not in use
- Requirements

- Care Giver Course preferable
- On the job training
- Knowledge on good hygiene standards
- Understanding and use modern communication software and systems would be an asset
- Willingness to work weekends and shifts
