Credit Controller
Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Private/COID Credit Controller based at Life Bayview Private Hospital, reporting to Chane Wrigley, Reception Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for credit control functions and to manage COID/Private/Insurance risks. The incumbent should have strong business acumen and the ability to coordinate, implement and sustain the credit control process through empowering and influencing.

Critical Outputs
  • Manage hospital DSO’s in line with budget per unit
  • Develop sound relationships with both internal and external customers including patients, funders, doctors and private patients.
  • Compliance with working procedures and quality requirements.
  • Ensuring accurate and efficient administration of the credit control function.
  • Ensure all accounts are followed up in accordance with the working protocols
  • Includes the responsibility and functions for Injury on duties/Private/Foreign/SAPD or any other debt associated with private portions.
  • Management of short payments on private/injury on duty age analysis.
  • Auditing of IOD documents before scanning head office
  • Ensure correct documentation and accounts submitted to IOD department at head office
  • Ensure compliance to agreed standards and procedures in the auditing and submission of IOD claims to head office
  • Proactively manage all injury on duty accounts.
  • Managing the risk of Injury on duty claims being rejected due to lack of incorrect documentation.
  • Resolving queries within specified turnaround times
  • Knowledge and application of fixed fees, fee for service and COID tariffs.
  • Minimize the bad debt write-offs by pro-actively managing the debtors ageing.
  • Ensure that the Debtor Age analysis is managed in accordance with the Life Healthcare protocols, targets and objectives.
  • Credit control over private patients.
  • Compliance with working procedures and quality requirements.
  • Contribute positively to the credit control and admission team.
  • Reporting to reception supervisor on performance on a weekly basis
  • Ensure set targets and benchmarks are met
  • Eliminate bad debt through adherence to group protocol.
Requirements
  • Qualification – _Grade 12
  • Must have credit control experience
  • Experience in a healthcare environment would be an advantage
  • Basic understanding of financial principles
  • Computer proficiency (comprehensive knowledge of IMPILO or relevant software system)
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills a prerequisite
  • Experience in dealing with customers
  • The ability to work within a pressurized environment is critical.
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Available to assist in different roles in the admission area per operational need
  • Teamwork is essential.
