Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Clinical Services Manager, based at Life Nkanyisa Head office, reporting to Life Nkanyisa CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving, coordinating and managing the clinical outcomes in collaboration with the Nursing & Pharmacy function to achieve Company and Quality strategic objectives.

Critical Outputs

Ensuring Quality patient care by

  • Demonstrating visible leadership in respect of quality patient care
  • Ensuring adequate medical practitioners and professional staff coverage according to the patients requirements
  • Ensuring ongoing competence of medical practitioners and professionals through continuous assessment and training
  • Ensuring various clinical quality targets are achieved and monthly reports submitted where necessary
  • Conducting clinical audits periodically and ensure adherence to clinical standards.
  • Ensuring special investigations are being utilized appropriately and that it is in accordance with the budget
  • Building a newtwork of specialists within the hospital in order to appropriate the use of specialist resources

Ensuring effective management of clinical standards by

  • Driving compliance to standard treatment guidelines, clinical notes standards and Esidimeni formulary by ensuring the necessary training is conducted regularly and audits are conducted.

Productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by

  • Building and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through ongoing formal and informal communication and networking sessions.

Ensuring effective financial management by

  • Participating actively in budgeting process to understand cost drivers.
  • Reviewing monthly reports and ensure compliance to budgeted PPD cost, manage all elements of labour costs effectively, assist in preparation of motivation for new Capex equipment in line with requirements of patients and hospital and ensure equipment is used effectively by professionals.

Ensuring effective leadership and people management by

  • Demonstrating visible leadership in respect of Company values, operating model and strategy.
  • Leading monthly M&M meetings and ensure participation from all to meet strategic objectives.
  • Actively sponsor Company initiatives and projects as they relate to hospital.
  • Providing direction and inspire positive work behaviour in hospital.
  • Recruiting, retain and motivate professionals according to Company people policies and practices.
  • Ensuring CPD activities take place, together with local general practitioners.
Requirements
  • MBBCh from a recognized institution (post graduation qualification in management will be advantageous)
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar position within a healthcare environment
  • Current registration with HPCSA
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
  • Current knowledge of clinical treatment regimes as it relates to district hospital environment
  • Knowledge of local languages will be advantageous
  • Computer proficiency
  • Driver’s license and ability to travel
