A way of life
Life Bay View Private Hospital was acquired by Life Healthcare on 2 June 2010.
Life Healthcare is one of the largest private healthcare hospital groups in South Africa, operating 63 acute care facilities across the country.
Our group is recognised throughout the health industry for its high calibre healthcare professionals and excellent facilities.
We believe delivery of world class healthcare is achieved through a combination of unparalleled quality and clinical excellence; along with a true focus on the personal needs of our patients and their families.
Every day as part of the Life Healthcare group we subscribe to its unique core values, while individually striving to continually improve facilities, standards and technology.
At Life Bay View Private Hospital our priority is to focus on the delivery of a special brand of health and care to patients. Within a world class hospital this unique approach is what makes the difference.
The management and staff of Life Bay View Private Hospital pride themselves on their commitment to service excellence. Compassionate and expert care is complemented by a philosophy of exceeding expectations. Our strength lies in our dedicated team of supporting specialists and nursing staff who are committed to the well being of every patient.
Situated high on a hill in Mossel Bay, with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, the 108 bed Life Bay View Private Hospital is an upmarket, high technology facility located in a tranquil setting.
The hospital’s accident and emergency unit is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a doctor on call. Specialists are also on call in the event of their expertise being required to manage an emergency.
State of the art facilities and technology include five theatres, two of which are equipped with laminar flow technology; as well as a digital urology theatre and a gastroenterology suite. There are also a cardiac catheterisation laboratory equipped with advanced technology equipment; a six bed intensive care unit, an eight bed high care unit, and a two bed neonatal ICU located in the 12 bed maternity wing. Other facilities include a paediatric unit, sleep laboratory, and pharmacy.
In addition to the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, diagnostic facilities comprise a pathology laboratory and radiology unit including X-rays, a CT scanner, MRI scanner, bone densitometry scanner and sonar equipment.
Accommodation is provided in wards and private rooms, which are luxuriously appointed to promote the comfortable recovery of our patients. Just Coffee @ Bay View is also situated on the premises for the comfort of our visitors and patients.
