At Life Empangeni Private Hospital, we take pride in providing you with information that you need in order to make your stay with us a pleasant and hassle-free experience.
If there is any further information that you or your family require regarding our hospital and our services, please feel free to contact us.
Accommodation at our hospital is extensive and includes:
We also offer TVs in all of our wards. If any patient requires earphones, these can be purchased at reception for a nominal fee.
Private wards are all en-suite, with telephones in each room. An a-la-carte menu is available.
The following items are required for admission:
A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under 18 years.
Mothers or fathers whose children are admitted as patients are welcome to stay at their bedside at all times.
Day patients undergoing surgery under anaesthetic should arrange for transport from hospital - it is illegal to drive for 24 hours following anaesthetic.
All private patients (i.e. patients not covered by medical aid) will be expected to settle their accounts in full on discharge.
A brochure about the facilities and services offered at Life Empangeni Private Hospital is available on request. Please contact reception on 035 902 8000.
The aim of pre-admission is to make the admission process on the actual day of admission to hospital a little faster and easier for our patients and their families. It provides an opportunity for the nursing sister to identify issues both from a health, administrative and logistical point of view, which otherwise may delay your admission, and also to ensure that you are fully prepared for your admission to hospital.
Bring your ID document and medical aid card with you; we will need a copy of both. For Maternity patients, we need copies of the ID`s of both parents.
If your Medical aid requires a preauthorisation number, please bring this with you too.
For further information, please contact M du Toit on tel: 035 902 8113
In keeping with our goal to continue providing high quality care, we monitor our service to patients on an ongoing basis. On discharge patients are asked to complete a questionnaire regarding their stay in hospital.
Participation is voluntary, but it does assist management in addressing any problems and improving our service. We especially welcome any suggestions you may have.
Life Empangeni Private Hospital charges medical aid tariffs, i.e. contracted in fees. Patients requesting a private room will be required to pay a surcharge. A deposit will be required from private patients on admission - private patients can contact our accounts department for more information.
