The adult unit relocated from the Argyle Clinic in Braamfontein, Johannesburg where
it operated from July 1999, to Life New Kensington Clinic in December 2000. The
dedicated paediatric rehabilitation unit opened at the beginning of 2010, and accommodates
children with all types of neurological impairments who require intensive interdisciplinary
therapy.

Facilities
|
The rehabilitation unit houses dedicated adult and paediatric facilities, with large,
spacious gyms and large exterior therapy areas. A recent refurbishment project has
provided for two independent living units, as well as a purpose built exterior wheelchair
mobility training area.
Child friendly facilities, therapists trained in paediatric rehabilitation and the
child-centered, outcomes- driven rehabilitation programme are key elements of the
paediatric rehabilitation service.
The unit prides itself in a unique treatment offering as the rehabilitation and
medical teams are also complemented by two Golden Retrievers, which work as therapy
dogs.
